The Window View

Finding Beauty in the Everyday.

A painting can evoke a memory of a favorite vacation, a place where your family gathers, or a moment when you felt completely at peace. Whether it's a fine art print, a greeting card, a tea towel, or a special surprise, I hope my art brings a little of those feelings into your everyday life.

Watercolor Paintings of Winter Lanterns

Why Darlene Paints

Painting helps me slow down to notice the beauty in the everyday. I hope that when your monthly mailing arrives, it invites you to do the same and reminds you to find the beauty in all the small, everyday moments.

Art that celebrates the everyday.

I'm Darlene, but you might know me as Darlene Paints on social media. After fighting breast cancer in 2023 and dabbling with watercolors for fifteen years, I decided that I wanted to dedicate myself to learning and improving the craft. So I committed to something very manageable: I would paint for a minimum of fifteen minutes a day, every day. And I have!

In a world that is busy, I want to encourage people to slow down and appreciate the beauty that can be found in the everyday. I create art that captures places I've been and memories I hold in the hope that seeing my art takes the viewer to a memory of a place they want to return to.

Whether it's a painting on the wall, a favorite tea towel in the kitchen, or stationery that makes an ordinary note feel special, I believe art can be more than something we admire. It can be something we live with, use, share, and enjoy.

Sometimes, the smallest moments hold the most beauty—and a little art can help to sharpen our focus.

How much is shipping?
Free shipping in the United States.
Can I gift a subscription?
Yes! When you sign up, you can choose to give 3, 6, or 12 months, paid once. The gift ships for that length and does not renew.
Are these original prints or open editions?
The prints in the mail club are open editions. They are signed and printed on textured 100% cotton paper to retain the watercolor look and feel.
What sizes do prints come in?
Prints in the monthly mailings are 5 x7 inches and will fit in a standard frame.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes, and you can do it yourself in about a minute. Sign on at snailmailhq.com/login and choose Pause: 30, 60, 90 days, whatever you need. Your price stays the same and there is no pressure to come back on a specific date.
What's your return policy?
Because each print is made-to-order and shipped, we don't offer refunds once an edition has gone out. You can cancel anytime before the next month's cutoff (the 5th) and you won't be charged again. If a print arrives damaged or never arrives at all, email me a photo within 14 days and I'll send a replacement. Light wear from the postal service is part of getting real mail and isn't covered.
How are prints packaged?
All of the contents of the Morning Light View are packaged with a backing board to prevent bending and sealed in a cellophane sleeve to prevent damage from moisture. They are tucked into an envelope and sent off to you. Packages with tea towels or candles are sent in larger mailers, with the Morning Light View envelope inside the mailer.
What happens when the first-price spots fill?
New members can join at $45/mo.
